The Lance 2000 was introduced on March 20, 1998. As with previous Lance designs, this is a split-tilt cab, meaning only the front portion of the cab tilts while the crew cab remains fastened to the frame rails.

The new design was adapted from the concepts used in the Quantum, and more recently from the Dash 2000. Although similar to the older Lance II cabs, there are several changes. The motor compartment is smaller, providing more room inside. The "wing windows" are gone. The "split" has returned to the same location as the original Lance design, allowing for increased room in the tilting part of the cab. There is a wide cutout about two inches high between the grill and bumper to allow clearance for the cab to tilt.

The Lance 2000 was discontinued in 2007, having been replaced with the Velocity.
