The Nanuet Fire Department's main headquarters was perviously located at 7 West Prospect Street in Nanuet, New York.  The original portion of the building was constructed between 1944 - 1946 and had only 2 bays. For many years, the entire Nanuet Fire Department operated out of this building.  In 1965 the first of many additions was put onto this firehouse. A wide 3-truck section was added to the west side of the building, followed a few years later in 1969 by a final large bay designed for Nanuet's first ladder truck (8-75).  In 1978 the adjacent post office building was taken over and in the early 1990s converted into a final bay.

The second firehouse was built in 1911 and was located on Old Middletown Rd near the intersection with Middletown Rd, just yards from the original firehouse.  After the Nanuet Fire Engine Co. moved to the Prospect Street firehouse, this building was destroyed by fire in 1972.
