This resulted in Firematic Supply being granted expanded territory, which included Rockland County. 5-CFR would be the last Pierce apparatus delivered to Rockland by Tyler in early 2009.

Tyler Fire Equipment was founded by Wayne and Vickie Tyler in June 1977. Upon returning to Elmira, New York in June 1977, Wayne and Vickie operated the business out of their home. They purchased a small two bay shop in March 1979 to perform apparatus service work and better prepare new apparatus for delivery.
